Pets in the store : Am I being unreasonable & here?
Last week I headed out with Ashleigh to the fabric store, that's no surprise. I decided to nurse Ashleigh before entering the store to prevent any unpleasant experiences. While sitting in the truck I spotted this lady holding what I thought was her toddler. She proceeded to put "the child" in the shopping cart. No biggie right? Well once I had a clear view I realized what she had actually put in the shopping cart were 2 Yorkshire terriers. This was not okay with me.
Now don't think for once that I am an animal hater. I love animals. In fact I grew up having a dog for all of my childhood years and when I moved to Cali I adopted 3 cats. It's unfortunate that after having kids I have developed some nasty allergies to pets and I just can't be around them.
I just think that there is a place for everything and the fabric store shopping cart is no place for a dog.
If she really needed her doggies to accompany her why not tote them around in those fancy carriers or even better she could get those pricey pet strollers that I didn't know actually existed until 2 years ago. I spotted a lady in Quail gardens with one when clearly no pets were allowed on the grounds. I did tell her and she left.
It's just a little inconsiderate on their part. I mean the fabric lady sort of pissed me off because I put the bolts of fabric in there and that means all that pet hair is getting on my stuff. It then follows me at home where my kids and I and occasionally my husband all suffer unpleasant days because we are allergic.
I mean really, am I being unreasonable here?

I don't think you are being unreasonable at all! I have a chihuahua but would never dream of taking him out to the store in the way that person did. There is a time and a place for everything. Don't get Tanyetta started on this one. She would have taken photos and everything hahahaha!!! You know I'm not lying!!
Pets don't need to be in stores period. I've only seen that in California. I was in the mall & I heard something next to me and I looked down & I saw a dog in it's little bag. Then I went to the dressing room & heard the dog in the dressing room barking. I think that's nasty. Keep them at home people they are not babies.
No youre not. This reminds me of us being in a pizza place and looking over and this woman has her little dog hiding in her jacket. When there is a big sign saying NO PETS! It just not right.
well you already know my thoughts on this!
LOL at Sheliza!
Yup, Yup, photos would have been snapped. Remember dude in hawaii strolling around with his dogs dressed up in bows and the whole nine!
I guess some people feel that dogs are their family and gold or something.
Yawn.
I don't believet that you're being unreasonable about this at all.
I have two dogs and love them greatly, but I agree completely, there's a time & place to take your animals. If you're going to Pet Supply, Take them.. but if you're going to a "regular store" (anything besides pet store or park type thing) then the people should think about it. Other people suffer because of their lack of consideration!
doesn't sound unreasonable. i think people should follow the rules. taking dogs into the fabric store is def. uncalled for!
Not at all. I have a dog but he is just that, a dog. He does not eat off our plates, he does not hop on the furniture and most of all he does not shop with us. What if you had had an allergic reaction? I was on a flight from Newark to Stockholm getting ready to enjoy a beer and nuts, when all of a sudden, here came an announcement that someone onboard was allergic to peanuts and that all passengers should refrain from eating anything with a peanut product in it...
I was heated, but what could I do...kill somebody just for a nut with my beer, lol!?
