Photo Post

So yesterday I packed up the kids and headed to WAP. It was a spur of the moment thing after Christopher said he wanted to touch the llama. I corrected him and off we went.

I was smart this time, atleast now I'll know what birds we saw

Alyssa right after she consumed some bird poop! I hope she doesn't get sick. I saw her chewing away at some nasty looking thing. Well the stroller was positioned a little differently and she stretched and got some from off the wood in the back of the stroller. Can you say YUCK?
Hopefully the boy didn't get any on his hands. He would have freaked out.

Now this was our main purpose for this visit.

Alyssa was terrified of the deer and I believe she was too afraid to even move "How about this one mama?" When it was time to leave, I told him to say goodbye to the animals and he went around to all of them to say "bye bye see you next time"

We got some great shots of the lion this time

I was walking away when 2 cubs ran into view. As you can see I only managed to get a photo of one of them.

You won't believe how long it took me to convince him to walk through this thing

Peek~a~boo

Not a very good shot but I thought it was cool since my boy looked so tiny compared to this balloon. No service this day. It was grounded due to high winds. I know the photo is dark. Christopher is in the bottom left corner

I wonder

So my son's favorite book is "The Runaway Bunny". We've had this book for a long time and always turned the pages really fast because he didn't like it. What changed?

I think little bunny is a little too fresh for my taste.

It reads, "If you become a sailboat and sail away from me," said his mother, I will become the wind and blow you where I want you to go."

"If you become the wind and blow me," said the little bunny,......." Now where did little bunny learn those words from?

Well I thought it was funny, don't you?

Trouble x 2

I was dreading this but really, I knew it would happen. How could she see her brother climbing on everything that he shouldn't climb on and ignore it.

I guess she wasn't thinking about how she was going to get down when she climbed up

They were playing nicely in Christopher's room, so I thought I would try to clean up. I heard soft screams at the beginning so I wasn't too concerned. I know what level of screams mean what. Then the screams turned to the panic scream. I ran to his room and saw this.

Let's stay positive here. Atleast she is learning something right!

on est mal barrés

By the way, she also trashed his cleaned up room so Christopher and I had some work to do.

A fun day we had today

Check out my boy on his horsey!

I am on a high right now because for the past 2 days he's been obsessed with cleaning his room. I bought some storage containers for his toys so that we can ditch the plastic zip bags and he's gone cleaning up crazy! I shoudl have taken a photo of the storage containers stacked nicely in the other corner and he did it all by himself.

Yes a few stains on the rug but look, we can actually see the carpet

I'm not complaining. I just hope this lasts longer than I know it would.

We were talking the night before. He hugged and kissed me and while he was hugging me he says, "Mamas the best ever!" I love my baby. It's nice to know he thinks so highly of me.

Stupid Troubles

So I can't even say that I am enjoying the sofa. Don't laugh at me when you read this. I am afraid to sit on it. My husband and I like 2 fools, sit on the floor and on the old ottoman when we watch TV. What is wrong with us? I know it's just furniture, but maybe deep down we want to keep it spotless for as long as we can. I cannot explain this foolishness any other way.

We had had the old furniture for over 5 years and they survived 2 moves so I know it was time to go.

The good news is, I think the fabric was treated with some stain guard or liquid repellent because the same day they arrived, Mr. Christopher jumped on the sofa with his CranGrape juice and spilled it. Luckily for me and my heart it rolled right off.

I wonder how long this nonsense will go on for.

I'm so excited

It doesn't take much for me as you've probably noticed. I just came from Walmart. The boy and I went there on Sunday and saw the sign saying that they will be operating 24 hours from Nov 24 - Dec. 24. Now tell me, who can ask for anything more?

So I had a date with myself last night. I put the kids to bed, waited about an hour or so to make sure no one got up and then I made a run for it. On my drive there, I took the long way, I blasted my favorite CDs and sang off-key. I loved it! I drove in the parking lot at 11:43 pm and look at the time I posted this.

Let's just hope that this ends my garbage troubles

I didn't go for anything in particular. I just wanted to go because I could. I did manage to get a replacement for our garbage can in the kitchen. Alyssa broke our old one and my husband got a new one from Home Depot a few days ago and believe me when I say, "He bought garbage for the garbage" (Funny how everything breaks all at once. We've had a lot of replacing to do lately)

From the moment I saw the thing it screamed trouble. Alyssa was the first one to prove me right. She has a thing for the garbage and we needed one which prevented her from opening the lid easily. However, one swipe of her hand and the entire cover flew off. Garbage I tell you and talk about flimsy. Shame on him!

That thing made me say some really nasty words earlier today. I only hope Christopher didn't hear me. Everytime I opened the lid to put some garbage in, it fell off on the floor. Stupid piece of garbage.

Man what a day

Sunday's Events ~ UPDATED(I meant to post this one yesterday)

When I woke up this morning my husband was already gone. I called him and he was at the warehouse waiting for the guys to load up the truck with the sofa portion. When he got here, I convinced him that I, supermom, could do just as good as one of his male buddies. "Don't call anyone and disturb them on this lovely Saturday", I said. Well if I could I would kick myself.

I tried to get the whole thing but failed

Only one chair was able to fit in the truck and he had to make another trip just as I had suspected. We managed to get the sofa inside and take out the old one which was just as heavy if not heavier. I've been spoiled. The last time we bought a large item I was pregnant so I didn't have to lift a finger. The same thing the time before that. If only I had planned better I wouldn't have to do anything this time around.

It's not that big but it was seriously heavy
(Yes I watch Boomerang Channel but I hate the Flintstones)

Oh you should have seen the goodies I found once we had moved the old sofa. Things I thought I had simply lost. It was kind of fun like finding treasure. Anyway, with that done he headed out again for trip number 2 hoping the entertainment center and chair would fit and it did. The single chair was no problem but holy tons of brick batman, the entertainment center was impossible.
I
don't know how we did it. Our nice neighbour saw when my husband pulled up and offered to help but my husband politely refused not knowing what he would have to face. At one point we both stood on the grass holding this massive item, thinking that we needed to call for help.

The ottoman was re-upholstered by yours truly as someone took something to the old fabric and ripped a huge, and I mean huge hole in it. It matches somewhat even though I did it before we chose the sofa & chair

I know my husband is very strong but like me he suffers with back pain and I didn't want that flaring up. He's thrown out his back on more than one occasion since I've been with him for less stressful work.

We did manage to get it inside with no help but he immediately said he needed a nap and well.....the nap continued until around 9 pm when I woke him up, he was on the living room floor, and told him to get in the bed. He said he had a really bad headache.

I hope he is feeling better tomorrow. We have a fun day of bbq-ing and drinking when his dad gets here tomorrow. Maybe then I will finally take that picture of the new grill. (Updated: Ok I missed the opportunity to take the grill photo again)

Today's funny event

I have a longer post saved and ready to go, but I had to share this one.

Grandpa came over to day to watch our "hopeless" team play football. We were still trying to clean up the place when he got here. Alyssa was sleeping so we only had to keep an eye on one child who was extremely hyper and happy to see grandpa even though he saw him on Thursday.

"Build grandpa?"
"Build airplane, grandpa?"
So he ran for the Duplos, brought the huge box and emptied the entire contents on the floor that we are trying to clean. Grandpa got on the floor to build with him.

Chris and I were both busy trying to re-wire the receiver, cable box, speakers and whatnots when I heard a noise. I didn't say anything because I thought it was Christopher.

Then I heard Christopher say very loudly, "grandpa farts!"

I turned around to look at where they were both sitting on the floor and I saw my father-in-law silently chuckling. So I started laughing too. It was then Christopher really started. "Grandpa farts! grandpa farts! grandpa farts!" Oh my gosh I felt so embarassed. Then grandpa says, "sorry about that"

I couldn't stop laughing and Christopher had to say it one more time. Grandpa then tells him, "yes, everybody does it."

It was only then that I warned him. I said, "yeah, he likes to call people out." What else could I say? It was so funny. That's my boy.

Pushy sales people

It's so strange & wonderful having my husband home, all to myself and I still have 2 days of this left. I know it will be over soon so I will enjoy it to the fullest.
(Pictures from a few days ago)
Holidayish Pants??

On to the story. Now my husband was already at Jerome's for 1 1/2 hrs when he had called me. He couldn't decide on the sofa which moved up to a sofa and loveseat or sofa and chair. *sigh*

She loves to sit on the Hippo and have her brother push her around the place

Now, I am cheap cautious when it comes to spending and it's very hard to get money to leave my hand. Knowing this, the husband called. He became panicked I believe since he saw something he really liked but knew he would not be allowed to spend anything near what it cost.

See why I love this man? Always thinking about me. So he tried his best to describe the thing to me on the phone, hoping that I would fall deeply in love with it's description but as soon as he started I caught on quick and stopped him in his tracks. I asked "how much is it?" That ended quickly.

Guess who's the paper?

So on to the pushiness. He ended up coming home with nothing since he wisely thought all items needed my visual approval. He came home, we woke the kids, this was at 7:30pm and we all headed out. We got there at 8:15pm. Unfortunately the poor guy who helped him for the 1 1/2 hrs had left and someone else came after us. You know they work off commission too.

She tolerated it pretty well

You know the type. I call them human fleas, because no matter how many times you brush them off they will keep coming back at you. I grew very annoyed. Because from the get go when he asked us if we needed any help my husband quickly explained to him how long he spent with Martin a short time ago and we pretty much knew what we wanted but needed to bring his wife to see what he had chosen. Do you think he got the hint? Nope. He said, "okay, just let me know if you need any help". Yet every 5 minutes he would walk up to ask us something or the other.

"Have you seen this one?"

"Did you sit on this one?"

"Did you see the one with the feathers? It's the softest in here" I couldn't take it. I said, "NO" rather loudly I might add. I don't want any feather filled sofa cushions plus I am very allergic to those things" My husband is way too nice when it comes to dealing with these fools. I know it's their job but good grief. Too much is enough. I walked away everytime I saw him coming. He was like a vulture.

Very interested

Anyway after looking at his choices, and to give him credit he choose a nice entertainment center, we saw the sofa w/chaise and chair that we wanted. All the looking about took 40 minutes and we walked over to tell them we were all set. There he was again. Do you know what he said? "Don't worry, I will make sure Martin gets the credit for helping you". Uhm...yeah...right. Stinkin' liar.

We have to go pick it up at the warehouse tomorrow since I told my husband not to give them any more money for delivery. It will take him 2 trips in his truck and he has to get someone (we don't know who yet) to help him but it will cost less that $69. and we will get it sooner. If we opted for delivery it would be sometime next week and we need it in time for the football game on Sunday...

What a lovely day!

NO new photos but I really enjoyed a relaxing day with my husband and the kids. We went driving around this morning, just looking at things. We got really side-tracked as our intentions were to go look for a new entertainment center and sofa.

I am tired hearing the husband complain about how much he hates the sofa. It hurts his back he says. So I say, maybe you shouldn't be sleeping on it but he's not trying to hear me. Whatever.

So after our little drive we made it to Jerome's. They have a lot of sales going on including no sales tax. I saw a pretty decent sofa with oversized ottoman and a chaise (which wasn't matching). I also wish he would throw out this hideous piece of furniture he calls a recliner. It's so ugly and you know something, I was the one who bought it. It's moved twice already. YUCK!!

Our entertainiment center has become extremely unstable after our circus acrobat, Christopher, decided it was a mountain he wished to climb continuously. I am afraid that the thing will fall over on him so it has to, MUST, go. Like tonight. The kids got restless so we brought them home for their naps and then the husband went back to choose and pick up the items. I left him to make the decision. He knows what I wanted and what I told him I like so let's hope he does well.

Oh boy he just called me and he is having trouble.

Glad it's over

The kitchen is a mess and I am not cleaning it tonight. I am going to tell my husband that it's my day off and he has to do the cleaning.

Not much to type about tonight. I hope everyone had a wonderful day. I only ate green beans and mashed potatoes. I didn't feel like eating much but I sure drank a lot! And I'm still drinking. Maybe I'll have more to report later.

Sour Face

We were heading out to get some stuff

I managed to drag my beaten up, injured back, along with 2 grumpy kids to the car to get some much needed items at the store.

Someone was not their usual happy self today

But when we returned, froggy was grumpy and in need of a nap. See the wet top? I had given her a tiny biscuit, then some water to wash it down! She has now taken up drinking only a little and letting the rest fall slowly, very slowly out of her mouth. How fun!

She showed some skin and got some beads ~ Just kidding

She loves to accessorize too! They're always fighting for those beads. Chris said she was swinging them all around in the air. I wonder where she learned that from!

Thankful Tuesday's ~ 10

I am always thinking about how fortunate I am in many ways and I am always thankful but figured I'd create a little list of those things that come to mind.

I am thankful :
1. for a place I can call home
2. for my health
3. for my babies
4. for a man who respects me, my husband
5. for sticking with this man through thick and thin
6. for my mom who is my best friend
7. for my computer..hahaha
8. for my friends, although I only have a few that I can label as such
9. for my smarts and craftiness
10. for my bad memories from bad experiences, it makes me much more appreciative

I remember when my husband first returned from CO. He showed up on my doorstep on December 24th 2002 after telling me on the phone that he was coming back home to marry me. I thought it was a joke but here we are. I have to be honest at that time I had so much hurt from our relationship and the break-up that I don't even think I loved him anymore at that point.

Daddy and son

I was under pressure from my mother to settle down. You know how that goes. I think she was afraid I would grow old alone with no kids, therefore not giving her any grandbabies.

So he moved in. It was so hard. Sharing everything. I've never had to do that before. He was invading my space and that triggered major unhappiness on my part. I treated him so nasty I am ashamed of my actions back then.

Daddy and daughter

It was so hard especially financially. I couldn't understand how I was totally fine when it was me alone and I was working, now it was 2 of us working and we still couldn't manage the bills. Weird isn't it?

Anyway, we stuck it through and we were married on April 28th 2003, after running off to Vegas. We had no fancy wedding because frankly we were both too broke and we didn't tell any of our family members. I think it was a Monday and he had to go to work the following day. We were pregnant a few days later. Guess we couldn't wait. Maybe a few years from now we will renew our vows and have a big event. I know his family and mine would love it.

Despite our early struggles, we're still going strong and we are closer than ever. He's the kindest and most selfless man I know. I can't imagine not having him in my life. He's the best thing that ever happened to me.....and oh how I love him so.

I'm getting into the Holiday spirit

Me and the girl went to Henry's today to order some sushi. If you're a sushi lover and haven't tried theirs yet, please do so. It's really good. We haven't gone to our usual place lately so this is the next best thing.

This really brought back some memories

Anyway, I walked on over looking for fruits and veggies for us when I spotted this. Oh, I can't believe I never purchased the mixed Christmas nuts since I have lived in CA. You may be wondering where the Walnuts and Pecans are. Well I don't eat those so they had to remain at the store.

When I lived back home in Trinidad, this was a special Holiday treat as we could only get them around Christmas. When I saw them I just had to grab a bunch. So as soon as I publish this, I will be on my way to memory lane. Oh yummy!

By the way, I saw someone with Christmas lights on their patio. Isn't it a bit too early? I mean yes Thanksgiving is in a few days but it's not here yet. I know some put up the lights after that.

Fear

A few weeks ago while giving Alyssa her bath, my mesh bath sponge was hanging in the shower. I grabbed it and handed it to her as I thought it would be good entertainment and would keep her busy.

The Bath~tub Monster

Well, have you ever see a 13 month old shake in fear. I mean really shake. I hadn't but I did that day. I thought she was cold so I turned up the heat on the water and tried to give her the mesh sponge again. This time she almost fell backwards. I guess it is a weird looking thing. What do you think?

I don't know if I want another girl

I'm sure you've heard other moms describe their daughters like this, but seriously, Alyssa is getting to be such a drama queen. I know you shouldn't compare kids but I can't help it.

I wonder where she learned this from

In many ways Alyssa is much more easy going than Christopher ever was. Especially with her taking naps. But she is very emotional. Just like...like a girl!

Today, she was trying her best to reach something that she had no business touching. I tried to take her attention away by giving her one of her favorite toys to play with, my camera bag.

Climb, Climb and Climb some more

Just look at her face! She's about the kick that kid's ass
She thinks he was staring at her behind

Now I don't know if it was because the camera wasn't in the bag but she grabbed the bag, threw it on the floor then threw herself down. She made sure she did this gently though as not to hurt herself. It was almost in slow motion.

She did not slow down for one second and that wasn't even our stroller

She started rolling on the floor and screaming. Big, long tears and all! It was so funny I called daddy to see it and I did it 3 more times. I waited for her to stand and handed her the camera bag, and everytime she did the same thing. He couldn't stop laughing. Are we bad parents for upsetting the child on purpose?

Her new cup

And what did Christopher have to say about this? "LaLa Loud! LaLa noisey!" She sure is.

It was early but the sun was setting

With all that grass in the background she still preferred to climb on the play structure

She loves to explore now

Still exploring

Walking towards the sun setting (I know it's a bad photo but I love it)

Poor Christopher

A few minutes ago he was jumping on the trampoline sofa like he always does.
Today at the park
He was so high up and was thinking about jumping

When all of a sudden he flew off the sofa. I guess he jumped a bit too high and got off~balanced, but he landed straight across the living room and crashed into the entertainment center.

He was on top of the world even with no nap

His head hit the edge of the bottom cabinet. I can't remember the last time he screamed so loudly from a booboo.

Staring at the beautiful sky

He ran over to me screaming, telling me to "kiss it mama" and "give me a hug". I felt so bad. When his head hit it was so loud.

Riding the motorcycle like a wildman

Then I felt where it looked like the hair was raised higher than usual and he screamed even louder. I barely touched it! Normally when I kiss his booboos, it's usually miraculously "all better". But this time I guess my mommy healing powers just wasn't enough.

And playing Peek~a~Boo with me

He's laying on the sofa as we speak watching Blues Big Music Show. It was the only thing that calmed him down. But he is laying down and not jumping and dancing like he normally would. He's pretty sad. I hope he is feeling better soon. I want to give him a haircut to see how bad it is even though I was on a mission to grow back his curls. That can wait.

I made it my business to get myself something

I really dislike people with no manners. Christopher and I went to get a few things today, while Chris and Alyssa had some bonding time at home. So on the way out of one of the stores, Christopher held the door open while I passed. He also held it open for the lady who was behind me. She barged right pass him. I was so shocked by her rudeness I had to stare for a while.

Doesn't this look a little Hippie?

Poor Christopher just stood there watching her...waiting. I was in a bit of a pissy mood and I yelled at her, "Oh, you're very welcome." Christopher looked so sad like he understood the woman was being rude. I said, "It's ok sweetheart. Not everyone has good manners like you. Some of them don't know how to say please and thank you. It's okay" She was still within hearing range when I said this to him.

Grrr.....

Who needs a nap..?

..Well Christopher does. Somedays I make him take one, other days, like today, I allow him to skip it. I figure, if I let him nap, since we are all late sleepers and get up late, that means his naps will be late and that cuts into "me time" at night!
He loves the slide

He won't be able to go to sleep his usual time if he is getting up from his nap at 8pm. So what am I to do? Well I am supposed to set a better schedule. Like waking them up at 8am or something but that would mean I have to get up too and that is not going to happen so I'll deal with it, thankyou.

Yes he was actually trying to push the tree & move it

We did manage to go return some broken items at 2 different stores. One of them daddy bought. I don't know when he'll ever learn not to get toys from pharmacies and some other stores. You know the ones. Remember that bum toy car that I bought for Christopher from Big Lots that broke the same day. Well I have learned my lesson

Why isn't it moving?

Anyway, he bought this Hummer that drove and drove. It worked on batteries and it just kept going. If it bumped into something it would go into reverse, get out of the situation and forward again and so it went.

He gave up

The thing was noisy as hell. I shamefully admit that even though my son loved this thing, I am glad it broke. He was so upset when the wheel fell off and mommy, the "mechanic" could not fix it. So we took it back.

Walking away ~ look how grown up my baby looks

That visit to CVS pharmacy was something all by itself. I won't anger you and share it but my cashier was one of the dumbest I had seen yet. What can I say, my tolerance is very low for those types.

She wasn't exactly the happiest girl on this day

I ended up exchanging it for a brand new "handy dandy notebook". Oh, he looooooved it! I grabbed it off the shelf when he wasn't looking and said "look! What's this?" He gasped so loudly and smiled so big. It melted my heart and I don't know if there was any price that I would not have paid for it.

But she explored a bit

Anyway, he was so tired he asked me to go home. So we did. We watched an episode of his favorite show and he found clues, sat in his thinking chair and scribbled in his book. Much more quiet and educational than that stupid cheap Hummer of toy truck.

By the way, my boss had to pay me to return his bad purchase. Hahaha...so I am still on the payroll, for now.

Not too far though

If any of you made it to the end of this post, and wondered why my normally happy babies looked so glum. Well on this particular day, I woke everyone up early because we had a playdate that I wanted to attend. Last week we experienced some nasty hot days and this day was one of them. So it was super hot and there were little grass flies attacking Christopher's ear. He kept running to me to hold him and get them away. So no one was happy. Did I mention the grass was wet?

I think I may be fired soon

English Muffin Pizza for the kids

Maybe this should be labelled How to take advantage of your employer!
It lasted for all of how many days? I got tired of my job. Turns out getting paid was not enough incentive. So if that's not enough then what is? Today we went to a playdate.
At today's playdate ~ she barely sat still !

The husband got home before we arrived and he claims he spent 45 minutes cleaning up the kitchen. I said, "that's what happens when you get home early. How was I to know you'd be home before me? I was going to do it when I got home" There were dishes in the sink, what else?

Nothing more fun than a swing

Does this make me a lazy employee? Or a schemer? Will I be docked one day's pay? I wonder.

Oh well. It doesn't end there. I put the kids down for their nap, plopped myself down on the sofa and took a nap. A few hours too! In between sleep I heard the husband say, "hey there are clothes in the dryer, I'm putting it on the bed" I did not respond because I thought I was dreaming. Hehehe, you know how that is when you're sleeping.

Weeeeee

When I got up from this lovely nap, the place smelled really good. He had slaved over the stove, well the wok. He made me stir fry with lots of Tofu and mushrooms, my favorite. Bell peppers, baby corn and some other veggies. He looked tired. He then said, "I folded all the pink clothes that were in the dryer" Yes I had a complete full load of pink clothing. Alyssa's and mine.

It's the Black~eyed baby

Okay so I admit, I napped on the sofa because I knew he would do laundry and put the clothes on the bed. I know him so well. It was a set up. I didn't think he'd fold them though. That was an added bonus.

Wild man Christopher

I am thinking, that he will see it's much harder than he thought to keep our home clean and that when I ask for a raise this Friday, he will agree.

How much more can I stomach?

You can see the darkness by the eye a little better here

My baby just fell about 10 minutes ago. She's okay but her mouth bled like hell. Christopher spilled some water on the carpet and even though I tried my best to dry it as much as I could with a towel it was still damp.

Poor baby

When Alyssa walked on the carpet and placed her foot on the kitchen floor, since her foot was wet she slipped. I cannot believe how much blood came out. I was going to take a picture of the tissue but I'll save you the nasty view.

She was reaching for the lens

She started screaming but only for a few seconds. I checked her 8 teeth and none were shaking. I think she just busted the lip. Christopher got very scared and upset. He said "Lala has a booboo on lips" I confirmed it with him and told him she would be okay and she was. She has been having a very bad couple of days. I am scared because I know there are many more to come with both kids. Is my heart strong enough? Did I mention she walked straight into a wall yesterday? The bump on her forehead can't really be seen by others unless I point it out but I can see it clear as day.

I'm feeling so sick right now.

My baby has a black eye

Daddy's poor attempt at picture taking

Well not quite, but if you look hard enough in the next photo you can see the discoloration on her upper cheek creeping up under her right eye (your left).

Closeup of her injury

This is the booboo that occured on the day my husband and I had our dealings. You know, when I was hired and I had to leave her home. Strange thing is, it got better then it got worse. The same day it happened, later on that evening it was just red. The purple-ness had disappeared. Then the next day it started coming back. Kind of like it settled in. Now today, the dark spot crept up under her eye. This photo is not a good one because to me it looks a lot worse in person.

Now I have seen the complete opposite happen. My friend had hit her forehead after falling in the shower and the next day the blueish bruise on her forehead had settled right on her eye. I remember asking her if she was sure she wasn't punched. But I would not have believed her if I didn't see it myself.

Someone got new shoes today, well it's actually her very first pair

Poor baby. It gets worse. When I was giving them both a bath last night, I turned around to get the soap and shampoo. By the time I had turned around Ms Alyssa had stood up and was on her way down. She fell. Luckily she didn't hurt herself. Once I took them out of the tub and Superman (the boy) flew off in his Orange cape, I took her to her room while I got her clothes. She practically darted for the bedroom door, opened the laundry closet door, tried to close it herself and pinched her finger. You won't believe how quick this chunkster is. Poor thing just had a rough couple of days.

Let's hope this change is good

Isn't that what they say? Change can be good? Well, I've switched. To the new beta blogger that is. We'll see how this goes. I am afraid something awful will take place but you all are next. It's only a matter of time until it's your turn. I hope you all know that. Honest, I read it on blogger.

We have a new toy

Nope not one of those kinds of toys, but a new BBQ Grill. Our old one (and it wasn't that old) resigned and didn't even give us notice. We'd been debating on whether or not to get a new one but it was not a priority since we have not been without. We have 2 tiny portable ones, but he's been complaining about having to squat so low to grill on it. We grill a lot. These things become a real inconvenience when you're getting old.

He was so excited to use the thing so our dinner was to be grilled. We had red snapper, some left over King Crab and sauteed green beans. And I have to tell you, I have tasted better green beans in my life. He really outdid himself on the beans. The fish was good too and I think he gave all the credit to the grill. Ofcourse!

A few hours ago, we were all in the bed, well me and my 2 men = Chris x 2, get your minds out the gutter. Suddenly, big Chris jumped up and ran to the living room door to peep at the grill. It was raining, well drizzling. He ran to the closet, grabbed one of our better towels, ran outside and began polishing the thing. He had forgotten to put the cover on and the thing got wet. I wanted to laugh, but my head hirt so bad from having a little too much to drink that I couldn't even fake it.

I'll take a picture of it later today. I was just too lazy
tired to grab the camera and take a shot.

What a lazy day

I got up tired, dozed off on the sofa many times throughout the day, when I should be watching the kids, and now I am still tired. Tired, tired, tired.....

Maybe it's all McDonald's farm animals dancing around in my head!

Oh and Christopher is singing. You want to take a guess what he's singing?

I'm going crazy, really

For the entire week and maybe for longer, Christopher has been singing Old McDonald had a farm. It was cute for a few minutes, then it started to get really old and annoying but he was happy singing it so what was I to do? Nothing.

My newest Vase

Today, I got some "me" time again. Just me, no kids. As a matter of fact I just came home. The husband ordered me to go get something for myself. I left at 5 pm. So I got a few hours. When I got home and was parking my vehicle, I noticed some young men talking on their patio. When I looked at them I swear to you all I heard was them saying Old McDonald. Now I knew this could not be.

I think I need a long break from everyone.

So I got a job!

Well I always had a job of being the Stay At Home mom for the last few years but now it's a real job. A job where you get paid with more than just hugs and kisses from the kids as your reward. Don't get me wrong, that is worth more than money but you understand where I am coming from don't you?

So I think all of you Stay at home moms or even working moms ought to get hired for this too. For the working moms you can do it part time.

I decided to start charging my husband for everything and I mean everything. This does not include the check he has to write to me every Friday. He loves this arrangement as things get done a lot sooner and done with a smile too!

1. I've been lazing on the whole dish washing business for quite some time so I will be getting paid to keep the sink clean.

2. Paid for cooking since I hardly cook as much as I did before.

3. Paid for cleaning his bathroom.

4. Paid for making the bed (I had stopped doing that also ~ I mean it's just going to get rumfled again later in the day right?)

5. Paid for going to the store.

6. Paid for running errands.

7. There are more but I get the biggest paycheck, when he is home or comes home early from work, like today. He paid me to take the kids shopping so that he could get a nap. But I sort of tricked him. Unfortunately, Alyssa fell and hit her cheek on the rail of our bed. It turned blue almost instantly. I waited for him to write me my check then told him, Alyssa needed a nap and she will be staying home.

But wait, there is more. Before we agreed to this, the dishes weren't done as usual and I left them all in the sink. 2 very large piles with a full dishwasher. I left them right there and ran out with Christopher.

When I came back the dishes were done and he had cooked for himself. Ha...man I feel sneaky. I wonder how long this will last? I know it will probably get old for me but for now I will enjoy my new business.

I have some porn to share......

so get the kids away from that monitor.

Christopher was playing in his room for a very long time before he finally settled down and took his nap. When I opened the door after naptime, this was the state of the little doll.

Exhibit A

There's no telling what went on behind closed doors?

Exhibit B ~ That's the poor doll's clothes all crumpled

Now last night when I put him to bed and we were talking he grabs on to his favorite toy and starts pulling again. He had no pants on in case you were wondering. I was getting his nighttime Pull-ups for him. I sat on the bed and he grumbled something then started laughing really hard. I laughed too not knowing the joke then asked him, "What did you say?"

Him : "Penis Stuck!"
Me : "What?"
Him : "Penis Stuck!" "Get it off?" he asks, as he started pulling everything, not just his penis, if you know what I mean.

I know if it hurts he wouldn't do it but I got scared for him and told him to be gentle. He tells me "get it off" again. I said, "sweetie, it cannot come off. It's there forever" So ofcourse he starts slapping it until he turned red.

I just don't know about this child. Someone re-assure me again that this is normal please.

Dreams....

At the gardens today
I am ashamed of myself. Well the husband wasn't "UP" to anything... hehehe Tanyetta. Sadly one set of the roses aren't doing too well even though I had the air running whole day. It's been super hot for the past couple of days here. I think it's over though. Shoot, we're in November, enough of this heat.

Why does he always have to climb?
We went to the QB Gardens today and the boy had such a great time. We were there for almost 2 1/2 hours. Climb, climb, climb that's all he loves to do. And watch the train ofcourse.
Playing in sand is serious business
I keep having these dreams of my teeth shaking. Out of all these dreams I believe the tooth actually fell out only once.

See what I mean, always climbing

What could that mean? I am so curious. Wait until I tell my mom. Her explanation for these dreams should be a funny one.

Is he up to something?

Yes, those are dirty dishes piled up in the sink in the background. I'm worthless aren't I?

I don't want to sound like an ungrateful wife but I think big Chris is up to something. Normally he buys me flowers every week as long as it's not hot outside. They don't seem to survive in summer time even though we keep inside cool.

He always does nice things like the flowers but he's bought some more than once over the past couple of days.

These are some of my favorite though and they smell sooo good

He got this set on Friday, I think and they started opening yesterday

I wonder what I have to give back in return? Nevermind, he's a man, I know.

All's quiet on my end today

The Dining Room window

This is the dining room window. I had to take 2 shots since it wouldn't fit in one frame. It looks much better in person.
The drapes are mostly finished. I knew it wouldn't be enough fabric so I must go on a hunt for matching fabric at a different JoAnn's store. The living room window was too tall and the curtains are almost touching the floor but not quite so I have to get creative with a border of some sort.

Either of the first 2 Bullion Fringes would do and the last, the Lipcord, will go on all remaining sides(Ofcourse I would need to find these things in the same color as the curtains) which won't be that easy

I still need to add some trimmings to the top and all sides of the curtains but the husband doesn't know that so to him it's completed. He mainly wanted to keep the light from coming in and that was accomplished. So I guess he is pleased. I know, I've been doing some pretty shotty work.

Waterberries!
We stayed at home today. Oh no we didn't, we made a quick run to the grocery store. My son wanted watermelon. Daddy brought home some fruits yesterday and my son looked in the refrigerator and asked me for "waterberries". I could see where he got confused, you know, the red watermelon?

Explanations

Her Cynthia (husband's mom) bought it from Shanghai

Okay, my husband's mom, yes my mother-in-law, has some issues. She loves the grandbabies and she has another grandson by her daughter. He is not allowed to call her grandma. No one must know she is old enough to have grand kids. So everyone must learn to call her Cynthia. She's not nasty about it, it just her preference.

Now before you say, what the hell is wrong with this woman, well I sort of understand what her problem is. She was married at a very young age. Had her first at a very young age. After her husband passed away and she met my father in law, 10 years later she had a son, my husband. She has always been a stay at home mom and apparently she sort of broke loose when the kids were grown. As mentioned in an older post the husband's dad and mom are separated but very good friends.

She had a horrible childhood. Her mother had no idea how to raise children.
We've heard the stories of her being in a closet and her mother not knowing what to give her to eat. There was some mental illness with her mom too. The stories go on and on and I think she turned out okay.

So now she finally can do what she's always wanted to, she is taking full advantage of it. She is a photographer for Tennis Magazine. If you're into it you may see her work sometime. Last name Lum. She travels all over the world with the tours and parties like a teenager.

At one point my husband was not too pleased with her dating men his age but after I explained a few things to him he gave it up. Plus I told him just be happy for the crazy woman. She's nuts but she is a lovely woman in all ways.

My mom sent me a package. This is how it arrived. It was not sent this way.

My mom sent me some tea from London. She'd been going on about the tea for the longest time. One of her friends brought it for her. "You have to taste it", she would say. So she sent a bunch to me, 2 ziplock bags full. Now I didn't know this at the time I opened the envelope. She also sent a sealed envelope with some coupons.

When I took the thing out the mailbox the tea smelled so strong even in the zip lock bag. So my husband and I both came to the conclusion that they(whoever that department is) opened the package since I believe people use this to mask the smell of drugs or explosives which a dog may detect.

When I called to tell her about the package, I asked her where the other tea bags were since she told me she was sending some round ones, but the ones I got were all triangular in shape. I figured she just forgot to include it. I also thought they would all be in one bag so I was in fact searching through the bag with the triangular ones thinking she mixed them in.

She said, "what"? I had 2 zip lock bags full of tea in there. I told her there was only one. So the last time we spoke she said she would go talk to the man in the post office. She knows him pretty well. She was away this weekend so we didn't speak about it but I think she will go tomorrow. She didn't insure the package so there will be no claim filing but she said it would give her peace of mind to ask him what could have happened.

So I guess someone really likes tea on their end because they have a whole bag full!

I had a good day...

I told you he stole her doll. Did I post this already? Who knows but it's worth a second look if I did.
My Shanghai Princess(sorry quality bad due to poor lighting)

with the exception of a couple incidents. I was feeling firey today and was prepared not to take any mess from anybody. Don't get me wrong I was in a great mood! Chris hired me for a project. I am to make drapes for the dining room and living room windows. It was a little problematic because the stupid windows are unusually wide, which meant more money than usual for the curtain rods. Anyway, my deadline is Monday. But since I aim to please, I will have them ready by morning. Atleast that's what I am telling myself.
Her Cynthia (husband's mom) bought it from there ~ I'll tell you about that tomorrow

So I went to JoAnn's to get the material for the drapes. I am also making lap blankets to donate to Alzheimer's patients for the Holidays, so I was on the look-out for some fabric for that also. I was in the that store for quite some time when I spotted something that would work.

I grabbed up the whole bolt of fabric. It was 10 yards and I knew it wouldn't be enough. I searched all over but that was the only one so I had to look for something that would match. I found the same drapes only it was in a different colour, but there were only 3 yards left. I have to work some serious magic tonight.
Anyway I went to have them measure it out to give me the ticket with the price. There were 2 measurement tables so I got in 1 line. One of the ladies who was cutting, said, "I'm sorry, but there is only one line." So I get in the main line and when she was finished cutting for the lady in front of me, this chick showed up from nowhere and placed her fabric on the table. The funny thing is the cutting woman started to help her.

Man I was ready for this. I said, really loudly so that everyone around would hear, "Excuse me! Am I standing in the wrong line? Because you (and I rudely pointed to her) told me
to stand over here. So which is it?" You should have seen her face. She paused for a while then told the lady, "Oh I'm sorry but the line is over there" Whatever chickie. Everyone did turn to look at me but my tone was not nasty, it was just a "no nonsense" tone. So I caused a little scene.

That was that. I decided to treat myself since I was out. So I bought this for me. Oversized 6 x 8 Hinoki Pagoda Candle
I was pregnant with my son in the photo in this photo. This was also the day my husband told his family that I was expecting. I think I was 4 months along

It was the very last one at Pier 1 and it was all mine. However I was much too cheap to get a holder for the poor candle so a plate would have to do.

Back in the car to head over to Mervyns. The husband wanted some shorts but to my surprise there was none. Shouldn't it be on the clearance racks atleast? All I saw were long sleeve this and long pants that. Californians, some of them, tend to over-react about their "winter". Some of us will still be in flip flops like me and I know my husband who is accustomed to CO winter will be in shorts in December. Anyway I left with no pants but I did get some capris and a blouse for myself. I also ran into Toys R Us since it was right there, looking for the bubble machine that produced all those bubbles in the last post but they tell me it's a Seasonal item. Stupid Nonsense! What the heck? Have these people forgotten that we're in California?

I also stopped at Walmart and got this too. It's a pretty large candle. I only hope it smells good. If it doesn't I'll put it in the husband's bathroom. It says Zanzibar but it really smells like a Cinnamon Christmas Candle that I had once. Who do they think they're kidding?

Then it was off to the grocery store. The husband called whining about how his throat hurts so I went to get some NyQuil. One item was all I wanted. In and out right! Well the 10 item or less express line was closed and this grocery didn't have the self check-out. Only 2 lanes were open. It sucked. People were complaining and grumbling. It's not the usual grocery I go to so I didn't know what to expect. But they opened all of the lines in a few minutes.
My mom sent me a package. This is how it arrived. I'll tell you about that tomorrow too. It was not sent this way.

I had 2 people in front of me. The lady who was being rung up only had like 8 items but there was a holdup. I was growing impatient and very annoyed so I peeped to the front to see what was really going on. I saw the WIC checks. Now I don't know how this works but apparently there was a bit of a problem with the lady getting 1 whole milk and 1low fat. Oh it went on and on, she was telling the lady "you need 2 of the same either 2 with red covers or 2 with blue covers" unfortunately there was also a language issue oh it sucked I tell you.

The man behind me started getting really upset. "Why are you making such a big deal over this?" I heard him say, "just ring the thing up. What is it like $0.20 difference". Comments were flying left and right between him and the man in front of me who said his "beer was getting warm". I felt so bad for the lady. Now everybody knew her "WIC" business. I think the cashier could have handled it better. After all that, would you believe the teller was wrong? The woman could get any milk she wanted.

Laundry here I come. I got this for me too!

Finally out of there and home here I come. Well the street was blocked off. I did manage to get a good look at the scene though. I saw an SUV then a motorcycle. Well the back wheel was stuck underneath the front of the vehicle. The bike was looking all ready to be ridden. It was still upright! Didn't look
damaged or anything but I would imagine if that is how it ended up then the motorcyclist was undoubtedly thrown off the bike. Who knows how fast they were going and who knows where he/she landed after being thrown. There were so many police cars there and ambulances were on the way.

Something funny....

(Atleast I saved it so I wouldn't have to re-type. And I have Ann as my proof. My post disappeared with all blogger's recent problems!)
happened a few hours ago. I went in the bathroom with my son who wanted to pee but wouldn't go. I took him in there and sat on the floor directly in front of the toilet waiting on him. (Note to self, don't ever do that again)
He decided he wanted to sit this time. Strange because he never sits. He likes to play like he's grown and stand. I thought for a quick second that today was the day he would poop in the potty. Anyway, he was fussing a whole lot and wouldn't let the pee out. Alyssa joined me in the wait. She sat right next to me on the floor. I wonder if he was shy because of the audience.About 30 seconds later, still no pee. So I asked him where is the peepee? At that time it started to flow. He held his penis, aimed it at me and said, "there it is". It barely missed my mouth. I think I screamed something like "Ahhhhh" and he kind of jumped. He squirted poor Alyssa as I grabbed his hand to aim it back in the toilet. Pee was all over the place. On my neck, on my hands, on poor Alyssa and on the bathroom mats. So everyone took a bath together. Can you say fun!

(We had an early park playdate this morning. I'll post photos of our day as soon as blogger resolves their technical issues)

Update: I guess the issues are resolved!

I cooked today...

Well tonight. It's still in the oven and even if it doesn't taste good, it smells great in here. So I figured I'd better take a photo of it just in case I burn it!

Daddy took Christopher over to a friend's house to play while the guys watch Ultimate Fighting.

It's so quiet in here as the time switch worked out to my advantage. Atleast in the night. Alyssa has been sleeping since 8 pm and I will attempt to put the boy to bed as soon as daddy brings him home. Come morning time it's another story. I go to bed late if at all and they are getting up earlier than usual most days.

Nothing exciting happened today. I managed to clean but I still have piles of laundry staring me in the face. My back is an absolute mess. Some days it's worse than others but Christopher thought it was a great idea to crash right into me this morning while I was sitting on the floor with my back turned. I screamed "ouch, that hurt" and he replied, "mama booboo" Thanks son.

This week went by so quickly and I can't believe tomorrow's Friday already. I'm glad about that. The husband and I have a date on Sunday. Just the 2 of us and I bought a really nice simple blouse for the occasion. He will see it for the first time on Sunday. If I look decent enough I will take a picture of myself.

More of Our Halloween - we hit the mall last night

When we got there I couldn't believe how many kids and adults were dressed up. My husband commented on the young girls' costumes. "Why do they have to dress so whoreish?" he said. I didn't have an answer.

He went as Darth Raider

Some girls were maybe 10, some younger some older in very revealing costumes. I saw this one in particular, I am not sure what she was supposed to be, a prostitute maybe? She had on a micro mini with thigh high stockings that reached to where the skirt ended which was not far at all because her ass cheeks were out on display. She could be no more than 13 or 14. I thought this was totally inappropriate. Where were these kids' parents?

Even though it was not really a costume it was hell to put that paint under his eye. He refused to wear the mask so we just put it on his head.

Funny how everyone knew what he was supposed to be. People would walk by and say, "Aw look at the cute Raider baby!" A few obvious Raider fans knew he was Baby "Darth Radier"
I couldn't put Alyssa through it anymore and she went Trick or Treating as herself and I told the candy givers that too!

She's such a pleasant baby

Darth Raider even shared with his baby sister

Christopher had eventually gotten tired of the Butterscotch candy cane and give it to me. My hand was on it's way to put it in Alyssa's basket when, with lightening speed she grabbed the candy and would not let it go. So I let her have it. You should have seen the mess!

I know, the lighting was bad but they were so far from me that my flash just didn't make it over there.Already on a sugar high

When we got home, he was uncontrollable. I was afraid I would not have any time for myself last night but he crashed so hard, I didn't even hear a stir for the whole night. Alyssa's monitor picks up noises from his room, so that's how I knew.

And how could I have forgotten this one from Halloween at Legoland!
